(11/13/2019) When 29 Courses on Black Writing Isn’t Enough at Williams.  When I look at the course list, it looks largely to be a list of complaints and victimhood.  And I hate to be honest, but the list of good, black writers is pretty short - I'm thinking fiction here.  Alexander Dumas would qualify as black - he had a black grandmother.  I've always liked Frank Yerby.  So good black writers exist.  I doubt that these are the ones that are studied at Williams - or any other college, for that matter.  Ta-Nehisi Coates is probably the most overrated writer in existence who no one would have ever heard of if he wasn't black writing about black.  That said, I would be interested to see what he could do with fiction if he could leave his politics out of it.

(11/04/2019) The Source of the Media’s Post-Truth Analysis.  The answer: postmodernism, which is predominant in our colleges and universities.  It used to be the goal of academics to seek out the truth - objective truth.  But it is so much easier to settle for "finding" one's own personal "truth."  So much easier for students, as well.  Is it not funny how for progressives, "truth" is always changing?  Yet they claim to be part of the "party of science and reason."
