Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Steve and Yolanda M: Steve's aortic root has been growing and he will be having a CATSCAN this Tuesday, September 11th,  to determine the extent of the growth. If it reaches a certain size, open heart surgery would be required to resolve the issue. This could be a serious condition, so pray for God's touch on Steve that he will not require the surgery. Miracles do happen!

Tom C and Karen P: Karen will be having an infusion port installed on Tuesday, September 18th, and the second chemotherapy infusion the next day. She was feeling a bit lightheaded this morning so please keep her in your prayers as she goes through this process and that she will retain clear thinking and no adverse side effects. Also please keep Tom and their kids in your prayers as they support Karen during this time. Their daughter Libby cut her hand at work two weeks ago and completely severed the tendon. Surgery was performed Friday morning at St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver to repair the tendon. She has been very worried that her ability to play the piano is at risk, but the doctor says she'll be fine. Please pray for God's healing touch on Libby and that her hand will heal quickly. Pray that her ability to play the piano will not be affected.

Tom and Teena J: Tom was not feeling well the past few days with a fever, upset stomach, and lack of appetite. A praise to God that he no longer has a fever and has begun eating more but keep him in your prayers that he will soon be completely back to full health. Teena's ninety-six year old Dad, LeRoy, was having a temperature of 101 and the doctor at the assisted living facility where he lives was not able to get the temperature down. Therefore, LeRoy was transported to St. Francis Hospital where they diagnosed that he had a urinary tract infection and they put him on antibiotics. They then performed a culture and determined that the infection was cleared up, however, Teena just received a call today from the hospital that further review of the culture shows that LeRoy has a toxic infection that is getting into the bloodstream. He will be admitted to the hospital so they can put him back on antibiotics around the clock and monitor him until the infection is completely cleared up. Teena's plate is really full with the health issues of Tom and LeRoy, so pray that God will give her strength and stamina during this difficult time. Also, their grandson Danny in Las Vegas that has acute promyelocytic leukemia is not doing well and is going downhill. He was released from the hospital for a few days but will be returning to the hospital. Pray that God will touch him and heal him of this cancer and also pray for his family during this difficult time. Miracles still do happen! Also, please keep Teena in your prayers as she deals with the health issues of her ninety-six year old Dad, LeRoy.

David and Carolyn H: A big praise to God that Carolyn is beginning to regain the feeling in her fingertips! She has been diagnosed with low oxygen and prescribed to have a portable oxygen concentrator so she can be on oxygen around the clock. However, due to Medicare requirements, she had to undergo a two hour additional testing last week before they would approve the concentrator. It is undetermined at this point when she will get the concentrator. She has received the sleeve that she is to use daily to treat the lymphadenopathy that resulted from the mastectomy. Please continue to keep her in your prayers as she goes through this issue with the cancer and for David as he supports her. Pray that God will touch her and rid her of the side effects and the cancer.

Jim and Linda G: Please continue to keep Linda in your prayers as she heals from the issue with the left toe. Jim met with the orthopedic surgeon last Wednesday and Jim is scheduled for carpal tunnel surgery on Thursday, September 27th, at the Colorado Springs Orthopedic Group next to Memorial North Hospital. The time has not yet been scheduled. This surgery will be on Jim's left wrist and also on his left elbow due to constriction of the nerve in that area. They hope to perform surgery on the right wrist before the end of this year. Please pray for God to provide the the surgeon and nurses as they perform the surgery and for Jim to have a quick and complete recovery.

Tony and Phyllis R: Phyllis will be going to Lone Tree, CO every week for chemotherapy infusions. Please pray that there will be no adverse side effects and for safety in traveling to Lone Tree and back. Also pray for Tony as he provides loving support to his life mate.

Dick and Ann B: They will be traveling to Pueblo this Friday, September 14th, to attend the wedding of their grandson Jason. They will be returning home next Sunday. Pray for their safety as they travel the notorious I-25 and also that God will bless the marriage of their grandson and his bride-to-be.

Ken and Carole R: Please pray for Carole's grandson Jeremy that he will seek God's guidance and wisdom for help in making the right decisions for his life and for his two young boys.

Bill and Carrie D: Please continue to pray for reconciliation for Carrie and her brother Jeff. Also, please pray for seventeen-year old Denisse who is the daughter of Bill and Carrie's friend in Mazatlan, Mexico. Her heart surgery that had been scheduled for August 16th has been rescheduled for sometime in November. Her mother Elodia is the mission partner to Bill and Carrie's ministry in Mexico.

Bruce and Judy B: Please keep Judy and Nancy L in your prayers as they lead the thirteen week study of "Twelve Extraordinary Women" which started last Thursday. Pray  that they will be effective communicators of God's love and power. Also pray for Tom that has been residing with Bruce and Judy. He is beginning to have severe memory issues. Pray for Bruce and Judy as they struggle with the helplessness of dealing with this situation.

Bill and Linda B: They had a wonderful time of family fellowship in South Dakota and safely returned home last Tuesday. Since Linda's last blood test showed her CA 125 count had gone from 28 to 47 which is out of the normal range, they will be doing a scan on Tuesday, September 18th, and her next infusion is on Friday, September 21st. Please keep Linda in your prayers that they will be able to get her CA 125 count back into the normal range. Bill is scheduled for surgery to replace the left knee on Wednesday, September 12th, and the surgery will be done at Memorial North Hospital. Pray for God to give the surgeon wisdom and guidance as the surgery is performed.

Jim and Patty P: They had a safe trip to Offutt, AFB at Omaha, NE last week to attend the promotion of their son Chris to Lieutenant Colonel last Tuesday and are now safely back home.

Ken and Marilyn R: Please continue to keep our daughter-in-law Katie in your prayers. They will be back home this Friday and will meet with the surgeon to schedule surgery since her colitis is due to restricted blood flow. Also, please keep both Katie and our son David in your prayers as they seek God's wisdom and guidance for what He has in store for their employment and that He will open whatever door will provide them with peace and comfort.

David and Carolyn H: Carolyn did not sleep well Saturday night and her oxygen level was below 90% and therefore did not attend church today so she could remain on her oxygen concentrator. One of the side effects of the chemotherapy is that it can affect the heart. They will call the doctor on Tuesday to find out if anything needs to be done. She also continues to have the side effect of numbness and pain in her fingers but that may be due to the strong chemical that was discontinued still having an effect. Please continue to keep her in your prayers as she goes through this issue with the cancer and for David as he supports her. Pray that God will touch her and rid her of the side effects and the cancer.

Tom C and Karen P: Tom and Karen made the trip to Denver last Wednesday with Bill and Linda B. They began the chemotherapy infusion around noon and it took five-and-a-half hours to complete but that included time to also infuse medication to help lessen any side effects. They made it home safely around 7:30 pm that night. As of Friday, she was feeling good and not having any issues other than having jitters due to the steroids she is also taking. However, her and Tom were not in church today, so a further update will be posted when more information is available. She will be having an infusion port installed on Tuesday, September 18th, and the next chemotherapy infusion the next day. Please keep Karen in your prayers as she goes through this process and that she will retain clear thinking and no adverse side effects. Pray for Bruce and Judy as they struggle with the helplessness of dealing with this situation.

Bill and Linda B: They are in South Dakota for family fellowship and plan to return toward the end of this week. Please pray for them to have a great time with the family and for safety as they travel back home. Also keep Linda in your prayers as she continues her battle with cancer. They had a safe trip to Denver last Wednesday with Tom C and Karen P for Karen's first chemotherapy infusion. Linda had her blood test done and her CA 125 count has gone from 28 to 47 which is out of the normal range. As a result, they will be doing a scan on Tuesday, September 18th, and her next infusion is on Friday, September 21st. Please keep Linda in your prayers that they will be able to get her CA 125 count back into the normal range. Tom C and Karen P: Karen will be going to Denver this Tuesday, August 28th, to have the first of three treatments of chemotherapy. Bill and Linda B will be going with them to be there for providing some peace and comfort for Karen. What a very gracious thing for them to do! Please keep Karen and the entire family in your prayers for God's wisdom, guidance, and strength during this difficult time. Their son Chris in California has lost his job and the surgeon that was scheduled to do the glaucoma surgery is not in the network of the company where he was working. The family has worked out a means by which the cost of the surgery can be covered out of pocket. Please pray that God will guide the surgeon as he performs these procedures and that God will touch Chris and remove this glaucoma.

David and Carolyn H: Carolyn had her appointment last Thursday for the last infusion of the two chemicals. They will meet with the oncologist this Wednesday, August 29th, to discuss the next phase of chemotherapy as well as when to begin the anti-estrogen medication. Jim and Linda G: Linda is still dealing with the left toe issue. She has been on a strong antibiotic but that stops tomorrow (Monday.) She plans to see the doctor that day to determine whether or not she needs to continue on the antibiotics. Her toe is swollen and the cellulitis has caused what appears like to be blisters. She still has to keep her foot elevated which she is tired of because she can't do her running and exercising that she normally does. Jim had the stitches removed last Wednesday from the surgery that was performed to remove the skin cancer on his left arm. The doctor told him to take it easy and not overdue using that arm until it heals. He will also be seeing a surgeon on Wednesday, September 5th, to discuss the possibility of carpal tunnel surgery. Please keep Jim and Linda in your prayers as they heal from these issues and that they will quickly be back to full health.
