Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood

 

Margaret Sanger (1879-1966) was a 'birth control advocate' who, in 1921, founded the American Birth Control League which later became the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.  For more details about Margaret Sanger's life, the Wikipedia biography is only moderately sanitized.

 

And what exactly is the mission of Planned Parenthood today?  From their website:

Our skilled health care professionals are dedicated to offering men, women, and teens high-quality, affordable medical care. One in five American women has chosen Planned Parenthood for health care at least once in her life."

 

Planned Parenthood is, in fact, the largest abortion provider in the United States, performing some 27.5% - 40% of all abortions performed in the U.S. (statistics vary by source).  That said, you might be surprised to know that Margaret Sanger herself did NOT favor abortion.  As extreme as some of her views were and are, Planned Parenthood itself is even moreso.

 

Sanger is lionized by many on the Left as a ground-breaker, fighting for womens' rights, particularly the right for women  to 'take control of their own bodies'.  Of course, there is a little more to Margaret Sanger.  Google 'Margaret Sanger' and you will find much that the MSM and others would rather you not know.  A small sample follows.
