(12/30/2017) Bestselling YA novel features superpowered girls, sex slave boys, and a girl-God.  "YA" is "Young Adult."  Of course, fiction is fiction and fantasy is fantasy, so I have no problem with people writing or reading this kind of stuff.  But I will say that as I age, I see the biblical view of men and women validated more and more, in spite of our culture's ongoing effort to deny it.

(12/15/2017) New Poll Reveals Patriotism Gap.  This is a gap between liberals and conservatives.  Hardly surprising.  In addition, liberals' notion of what it means to be patriotic is quite different.  It appears to me that if the survey provided a definition of patriotism first, the gap would probably be even wider.

Not much.

(11/17/2017) Undermining America.  This Walter Williams column is several weeks old, but worth reading.  Why do our youth so strongly support socialism when they can't even tell you what it is?  Why do they support banning "hate speech" and restricting freedom of religion?  Why do they know so little about American history and the founding of America, and often what little they know is wrong?   Why do they support undermining and weakening the family?  In a nutshell, it is because all our major institutions outside of the family - academia, the media, entertainment - teach them this stuff.  The family and religion (specifically, Christianity) are the only things that really stand in their way, so they must be destroyed, or at least marginalized.

(11/04/2017) Michelle Obama says men are 'entitled,' 'self-righteous' because women protect them too much.  Having read more about what she said, I think she was pretty incoherent overall.  Which is one reason I am a conservative and a Christian.  God's truth doesn't change.  When our so-called personal "truths" are subject to change due to the whims of society, it can be challenging to defend them in a coherent manner.
