Christianity

Jan-Mar 2016

(03/16/2016)  Airline boots Christian for 'prayer' on phone.  Just when you thought it couldn't get any more ridiculous.

(03/16/2016)  Texas sheriff sued for placing crosses on patrol cars.  Folks, we have to start pushing back rather than rolling over.

(03/16/2016)  Christian targeted for 'personal destruction' has new hope. Florist penalized for refusing to violate faith, support same-sex wedding.  The Washington Supreme Court has agreed to review the case.

(03/08/2016)  Are Christian hymns too warlike?  A 'liberal evangelical activist' certainly thinks so.

(02/22/2016)  Nike fires legendary athlete for following Bible.  Pac-man probably did not chose his words as well as he should have, but note that corporations are very reluctant to upset progressives, but have no such qualms about upsetting those with traditional values.

(02/21/2016)  A pair of columns from the Gazette: Life from an atheist's perspective vs. Disputing the claims of atheism.

(02/20/2016)  Cops cite preacher for 'offending' student.  Apparently it is 'against the law' to offend someone.

(02/20/2016)   Nancy Pelosi Quotes Mohammad and Pushes Islam at the National Prayer Breakfast.  Pelosi seems to be saying that Christianity, Judaism and Islam are basically the same - or at least similar.  I guess the fact that Pelosi is a pro-abortion Catholic gives us a little hint as to whether her faith or her politics come first.

(02/20/2016)  Atheist Says Christianity is a ‘Bulwark Against Something Worse,’ and that Something Worse is Islam.  Well, it is certainly a cinch that secularism isn't going to do the job.

(02/15/2016)  NASA tells Christian employee group they can't use the name 'Jesus' in ads.  What is so hard to understand about 'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;?'  Of course, some time ago the courts made a deliberate decision to ignore the plain meaning of the First Amendment.

(02/12/2016)  Christian Cheerleaders in Texas Win a Major Victory for Free Speech and Religious Liberty!  We need more of these victories, but in order to achieve victory we must first decide to do battle.

(02/08/2016)  These are the 'most godless' cities in America.  It might be surprising that New York City does not rank high, but for those of us in Colorado, Denver ranks a strong fourth.  On the other hand, here is a list of the most 'Bible minded' cities, and the results are not the mirror opposite.

(01/30/2016)  Government seeks 'authority to determine what is sin.' Legal team warns of ramifications of wrong decision at Supreme Court.  There was a time when I would have considered such warnings overwrought.  But given the Court's willingness to legislate from the bench - completely unconstitutional - nothing seems beyond the realm of possibility anymore.

(01/28/2016)   Long Live the King.  Some thoughts about MLK and just vs unjust law.  In brief, for Christians, an unjust law would be one that is out of harmony with moral law - that is, with God's Word.

(01/17/2016)   Here’s How the New Christian Left Is Twisting the Gospel.  This is an old article, but well worth the read.

(01/15/2016)   Dr. Michael Brown Calls Out Mind-Boggling Christian Ignorance from a Top Journalist - one who has not clue what it means to refer to the 'body of Christ.'  Update: Here is more on the subject: A Media-Friendly Guide To Christian Language.

(01/15/2016)   San Francisco park employee fired for conducting a baptism during his lunch hour.  It looks like religion is one of the few things that we are NOT permitted to freely practice these days.

(01/09/2016)  Poll: Nearly 50% of Democrats Believe Christians are More of a Threat to America than Muslims.  I'm not sure I can buy into this, but it is food for thought.

(01/02/2016)   YEAR IN REVIEW: Urgent Call for Intercession Over Franklin Graham.  This article is months old, but definitely worth a read.

(01/02/2016)   Dear Media: Stop Trying To Teach Christians Theology.  I don't believe I have ever read an article in the MSM concerning evangelicals that indicated that the writer had any real understanding of Christian beliefs in general, much less any understanding of evangelicals.  This goes for many in the comment section of this linked article.

esn't mean we Christians need to be silent.
